My struggle with less-than-clear skin began at a very young age. I believe I was about eleven years old on a family vacation during which I had eaten more sugar and innutritious foods than anyone should, and I suddenly found my face breaking out.
Since that time I have tried seemingly everything under the sun to clear up my skin. Once, I even had the will-power to go months without chocolate, hoping that would be the cure. It wasn't - and I like to think that I still need to make up for the chocolate I missed out on during that time : )
Over the last couple of years, I have found that the following products really make a difference in my complexion; they are my go-to remedies for acne and are a part of my daily skin care regimen. They don't absolutely perfect my skin, but they certainly improve it greatly, and if you are struggling with problem skin, I hope that a few of these work for you, too.
After seeing an acupuncturist for a few months, I learned that several health issues I was having stemmed from my liver not functioning at it's best. I knew that Milk Thistle is a great supporter of proper liver function, so I started taking it about a year ago. I really saw improvements in my skin overall - it even improved my eczema. If you give this supplement a try, remember that it has a cleansing effect and your skin may get worse before it gets better. Try to stick with it!
Favorite mask ever! I've always wanted a miracle product where I could have a bit of instant gratification. This is it for me. I put it on after I shower, wait 10 minutes then rinse it off, and voila! My skin looks instantly more aglow. Plus, the exfoliation it provides helps my pores to stay clear. Right on.
This little guy is pretty new to me, but we're in it for the long haul. It's a super-soft-yet-somehow-super-exfoliating sponge made out of a root. My skin feels so smooth after using this, and once again, exfoliation is the name of the game. Cell turnover means fewer wrinkles and blemishes! (By the way, I have tried a couple brands, and the one that I linked to is my favorite)
I would have never purchased this product had I not tried a tiny sample of it first and been amazed with the results. Every other oil I have used has only caused me to breakout more. This is certainly the most I have ever spent on a skin care item but I feel more and more that it is worth every penny. Also, though it seems like this is always said about expensive things, a little does go a long way. I have been using this for over a week, and it doesn't look as though the bottle has even been opened.
Do you have any tried & true solutions for your skin? Have you already tried any of these?
