Fort Lauderdale Beach, Florida

Last week we drove down to Fort Lauderdale Beach for a few days. Michael had a work conference to attend, so it was nice for Charlie and I to tag along and have a change of scenery.

We were on the very top floor of The W Hotel and this was our view - amazing, right?

The weather was a splendid change for us: warm and humid! That's the Florida I know (and perhaps loved without knowing it, until now).

Charlie and I followed our usual routines and stayed around the hotel for the most part. I did, however, try this lunch spot nearby called Mayapapaya which was absolutely delightful! I had the falafel for lunch one day and then on our way out of town I had a frozen acai bowl. It's a really good thing we live five hours from this place or else I might be there far too often.

A highlight of the trip for me (silly as it may be) was getting to soak all of my troubles away in the luxurious garden bathtub in our room. I had been waiting for that moment since having a baby!

I'm thankful for these little trips and that Michael's work involves travel every now and then.
